Privacy

We run a diner. This website has no sign-up, no account, no shopping cart and no contact form — there is nothing on it for you to fill in, so we collect nothing about you ourselves.

What the site does do is count its visitors with Google Analytics, borrow its lettering from Google Fonts, and — on two pages — show you a map and our reviews using other companies’ code. Every one of those is listed below, by name. Nothing else is going on.

What this site never does

Google Analytics

Every page here — this one included — loads Google Analytics 4, property G-CNM0YZCWSK. It tells us how many people came, which pages they read, roughly where in the world they were (worked out from your IP address, town-level at best), what sort of device and browser they used, and which search or link sent them. It does not tell us who you are. We also count taps on the phone-number links, so we know how many people the site actually puts on the phone; that count carries no identity with it.

It stores two cookies in your browser:

CookieWhat it does
_gaTells one browser apart from another so repeat visits aren’t counted twice. Expires after 400 days.
_ga_CNM0YZCWSKKeeps track of a single visit to this property. Expires after 400 days.

The pageview itself is sent to Google, at google-analytics.com and google.com. What Google then does with it is Google’s business, described in the Google Privacy Policy.

The lettering

The headline and body typefaces are served from this website itself. Nothing is requested from Google Fonts, so no third party sees your IP address because of the lettering, and no cookies are set.

The map on the Location page

Location & Hours has a Google Map embedded in it. Opening that page loads the map from Google — maps.googleapis.com, maps.gstatic.com and places.googleapis.com — which means Google sees your IP address and that the map was shown. In our testing the map set no cookies of its own. No other page loads it.

The reviews on Reviews & More

Reviews & More shows our Google reviews through a widget made by a company called Elfsight. That one page pulls code and data from six Elfsight addresses — their own servers plus the networks that deliver their files — and Elfsight sets two cookies of its own:

CookieWhat it does
elfsight_viewed_recentlySet by the widget itself. Very short-lived — it expires within seconds.
_cfuvidSet by Cloudflare, which delivers Elfsight’s files. Cleared when you close the browser.

The reviews it displays are the public ones people left for us on Google. No other page on this site loads the widget.

Ordering, and the links out

The Order Delivery and Order Pickup buttons hand you over to DoorDash and Toast; the Instagram and Facebook links hand you to Meta. Those are separate companies with their own privacy policies and their own tracking, and the moment you land there this page no longer applies to you. Your payment details are handled by them, not by us — what reaches the diner is the order.

If you call or write

We are a phone-and-counter business. If you call (845) 747-9912 or email newmunsondiner@gmail.com, then we have whatever you told us — your name, your number, your order — for as long as it takes to sort it out. That stays between you and us. It never touches the website.

What you can do about it

Changes

If we ever add something that collects more than this — a booking form, say — this page changes at the same time. The date below is when it was last checked line by line against what the site actually loads and stores.
